Was ist ein Izakaya?

Eigentlich lässt sich die Frage was genau ein Izakaya ist schnell beantworten: Es ist ein japanisches Restaurant. Aber warum trägt es nun einen eigenen / besonderen Namen?
Wikipedia bezeichnet ein Izakaya wie folgt: 
"An izakaya (居酒屋) (Japanese: [izakaja], ee-ZAH-ka-yah)is a type of informal Japanese gastropub. They are casual places for after-work drinking. They have been compared to Irish pubs, tapas bars and early American saloons and taverns."
Für mich ist die jedoch zu simpel gehalten oder mehr zu sächlich gehalten. In erster Linie findet man Izakayas natürlich hauptsächlich in Japan, aber auch hier in Deutschland und anderswo lassen sich Izakayas finden. Meist werden diese durch japanische Inhaber betrieben, die sich im Ausland niedergelassen haben. 
Was unterscheidet nun also ein Izakaya von einem gewöhnlichen Restaurant oder einer Bar? Meine persönliche Erfahrung mit all den Izakayas, die ich bisher aufgesucht habe ist, dass sie einen rustikalen und "alten" charm haben. Abenutzte massivholz Einrichtungen und vergilbte Menü plakate an den Wänden, meist per Hand geschrieben.
Am prägnantesten ist wohl das fast in jedem Izakaya herschende laute Gerufe der Angestellten - "Irashaimasen!!!". 

Jede Bestellung wird vom Kellner dem Barmann laut zugerufen und dieser bestätigt die Bestellung lautstark.  Man bestellt auch keine ganzen Gerichte sondern vielmehr kleine "Happen". Hiervon dann aber um so mehr, bis der ganze Tisch mit Tellern eingedeckt ist.


So oder so empfehle ich jedem einmal ein Izakaya in Japan aufzusuchen.

Watashi wa sore o yaru! - 私はそれをやる！

Chapter 1.0: As the most of you already know I am trying to learn japanese. My goal for the next time is to pass the JLPT N5 test. A nice user from Interpals gave me a helpful feedback regarding to this blog and said to me, that she would like me to write about my japanese learning process.
